Hey Eva--The name on the pie is absolutely stunning. My grandmother kicks ass, but yours kicks more.
Hey--check out http://www.twilightbabies.com. It's a Detroit trip-hop group that I had kinda forgotten about. So good. There's a link to download a Stab Stab Die remix of one track that is great.
Not only does she kick ass in the pie department, she also kicks ass in the ass department! She is a very bootylicious Baba* -- a Babalicious, as we like to say.
(*for the non-Slavic readers, that's "grandmother" in Ukranian/Russian/etc.)
Thanks for the music rec, Eric -- will check it out right now...
Jurph here. Yes, you are the first Google result when someone reads the name "Sayre" in a newspaper article, thinks "I wonder what Eva got up to?" and Googles your name. Glad to see that you're still keeping your knives sharp! There is far less poetry coming out of my head than when we last spoke, but I am still bizarrely similar to the Jurph you knew in the mid-90s. Except for, you know, being married and in the Air Force and passionate about politics.
Your grandma's apple pie truly kicks ass.
If you don't already know and love Beth Orton, she might be right up your alley.
